As far as public transport goes, rail is far greener an option than road ( even buses are less green), as Indian Railways is largely electrified.
Whether intra or inter-city, Railways must be promoted as the green option.
For passenger as well as freight movement, among factors to be looked into carefully, is efficient intermodal transport switch-overs .
Cheap cars - how about making efficient cheap cars?

Gosh move onto HHO already! Hydrogen is the way to go and its abundent and easy to make! I’ve already driven such a car and its the best drive ever, i’m telling you its not the car but the fuel you use to power the car!

Add hydrogen and your going to be the happiest driver around :)

If there are more vehicles dedicated public mass transportation rather than more private vehicles, I think that this would help ease the traffic in India. You wouldn’t need to get truck body lift kits anymore to put your car in order.
