Google is changing its approach to Internet search. Soon the Google search results would include webpages, images, videos, maps and other contents, all consolidated into single search result, an announcement to this effect has come from Google.
The consolidated search service, called ‘Universal Search’ by Google, was introduced on 16 May 2007. The change will be evident each time you google a word.
A search for ‘Aishwarya Rai’ gave results which had webpages and videos relevant to the search.

What more, the search included pages in different languages with Google’s translation facility to your rescue. The search link had another link which enabled to read the page after being translated by Google’s translation facility

Google’s Universal Search is the first to give a consolidated result for any search including webpages, images, videos and other contents available on the Internet related to the searched keywords. The results would also include book excerpts relevant to the search.
This is an effort by the search-giant to enhance the user experience. All major search engines have been attempting to combine the web contents of various categories for searches.
The Official Google Blog said: ‘With universal search, we’re attempting to break down the walls that traditionally separated our various search properties and integrate the vast amounts of information available into one simple set of search results.’
Now when you search in Google next time, take care to note the changes. Google believes this will enhance user experience, hope you think the same way. But one of my senior says Google search would become all the difficult now with more paghes to check. Is it really?
